Commercial Due Diligence
The Intelligence Group has conducted numerous investigations for commercial Due Diligence purposes. In addition to developing intelligence regarding operations, ownership and compliance, we also focus on an entity's track record and historical performance.
In one matter involving construction and development services, we evaluated the track record of a potential joint venture partner, determining that they had been sued previously for non-performance in similar contractual relationships. Further confidential sourcing revealed former partners that were not only dissatisfied, but had been purposefully defrauded.
In another matter regarding the potential acquisition of an engineering services firm, The Intelligence Group identified issues associated with licensing discrepancies and potential violations in several states. Confidential sourcing among industry insiders provided additional background regarding performance quality and various customer issues.
In reviewing the background of a consulting entity and its principals, The Intelligence Group was unable to verify a number of customers and claimed projects that were claimed to have been successfully conducted. When further claimed background regarding the principal did similarly not check out, our client reached a decision to back away from the potential relationship.
